Thinning Arctic ice may cause drifting research stations to be placed on firm ground or artificially-made platforms, the head of Russian Meteorological Centre said on Thursday. India will temporarily go back to using Russian-produced space equipment after its indigenous GSLV rocket failed, a spokesman for Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on Friday.
