Non-U.S. standard ammunition and mortar weapons systems are to continue to be produced by Orbital ATK under a new indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award from the U.S. Government.
The non-standard ammunition, or NSA, and mortars are for the U.S. Department of Defense in support of unidentified international allies.
"Orbital ATK is pleased to continue providing non-standard ammunition to the United States Army for use in strategic geographic theaters throughout the world," said Kent Holiday, vice president and general manager of Orbital ATK's Small Caliber Systems division of the Defense Systems Group. "The strength of our team is our worldwide supply chain that provides affordable, high-quality ammunition to our allies."
Orbital ATK's Defense Systems Group operates the U.S. Army's Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Missouri. Under a previous three-year contract for NSA ammunition, is had received about $300 million in orders.
The new award came with an initial order worth about $20 million.
